Sounds like they're trying to assure themselves one win. I think it may backfire.

I was wondering if that rain out last week on Friday would mess with their rotation this week, and it seems it has. Since Peterson isn't pitching, you can scratch Mercer and Stringer as possible starters. I think Horton is going to do a relay system like he always do in midweek games. Look for familiar faces from their last two Tuesday games, on the mound tomorrow, which didn't go so well for them. Hopefully it repeats if that's the case.

...Since Peterson isn't pitching, you can scratch Mercer and Stringer as possible starters.... Why scratch Mercer? He'll go Saturday vs Thompson I'm sure. My prediction is Yovan starts Thursday and Stringer and others get in for innings

Very disappointed. Was looking forward to one of those 1-0, 2-1 games and I was starting Jose about 15 minutes before first pitch.

I wonder if Casey counters by moving Thompson to Friday. I doubt Thompson would pitch Sunday-Friday. Possible, but since it's not necessary..... Other option is move Heimlich back a day, which puts him right on his normal rotation. But again, I don't think it happens. Really interested to see who takes the mound for OS on Friday.

I know it's just coach-speak, but I enjoy hearing this from the rival coach:
“Their pitching is dominant compared to everyone else in the country,” Horton said. “We feel like we pitch OK and they dominate us in that category. There doesn’t seem to be an Achilles heel, even in a midweek game we played, they went down into their pitching depth and controlled us pretty well. When you are pitching at that level, it is pretty hard to beat a team.”

Both teams are used to playing in the wet - this might really be for a platypus cup given the water. This is a game Gaylord Perry would love to pitch in - in the damp he could do all kinds of special touches and never be caught.
