Just shows the value of seeding the region with savvy sports people who know talent. Kids like Greg Brock from Stayton, and Tom Gorman from Woodburn were people I played along side (Gorman didn't pitch against us but he hit a mammoth home run). I know the Phillies are still a bad name for OSU fans, but they had a scout in Oregon who was active for over 50 years; recruited my dad out of high school in 59 - he knew all the hamlets and small towns, and I talked to him a few years ago at a baseball game at OSU; he still remembered my dad even though he went to college and ended up starting a family rather than taking the trek through the minors. Jake's got 3 more regular season games, and perhaps 4-5 playoff games if all goes well, then hopefully we will be watching him in the Show in a few more years. As a fellow Florence alumni (ok so it was 4th grade only in 69-70, but it counts ), we got your back, Jake!. Go Beavs!

Thanks for posting. Besides the immense talent Jake exhibits, I've always loved the fact that he came out of the backyard of tsdtr. The prospect of playing for Pat Casey / Nate Yeskie vs. Horton et al, says it all. With his velocity and current trend regarding command, I would expect that he'll go very high in 2017 draft - Perhaps highest Beav or smuck (yeah yeah yeah, I've heard all about Peterson)
