What has happened to him as a hitter? That's a guy that should be a solid DH. This team really needs good production from that slot and has been struggling to find it all season.

[be] He's not adjusting to the offspeed? He seems to take a lot of big cuts on pitches that just drop on the outside part of the plate. I like that he can hit opposite field, but when he tries to pull one deep, he gets fooled. Just hit for average would me my suggestion. Its worked for Harrison.

Pat was talking in the pregame or in-game interview about hitters that are not making the necessary adjustments. He was complaining about guys who get in a hitters count and then swing at offspeed/breaking balls instead of being selective. I think Larnach and Cary, as well as Donahue, fall into that category. Cadyn has also found himself pressing the last couple of games. Of course when you do that you start to doubt yourself, you don't recognize different spins on the pitch, and worse, every pitch is a called strike whether over the plate, or not. They just have to try and relax, and work through it.

He's been a bit of a double play magnet lately as well. Casey choosing to let him swing away with a runner on first instead of asking him to bunt...
