Billy was hitting about .130 after the first dozen games so his current stats are really impressive.

He really did heat up this season at NW Nazarene - after a slow start. I've got many great Billy King memories.....a HR in Surprise in 2016 (first...and only? as a Beaver - I was fortunate to witness the blast)....his walk off game winning base hit against USC 2 years ago in Corvallis...I was lucky enough to be in Goss that afternoon. Even bigger (with certain fandoms) is his HR (again, I was lucky to be present) that provided the difference in the championship game of the West Coast League (college summer ball) in 2015, for a Bend Elks victory & championship. He wanted to be more than a part time/platooned DH-er and I'm happy that he's getting the chance in his senior year. Youth is fleeting.

Great pinch hitter. Must have batted above 300 coming off the bench, or seemed like it.

Another former Beaver on the all-regional team is Tyler Mildenburg.

Another former Beaver on the all-regional team is Tyler Mildenburg. showing just how DEEP the Beavers have been in recent years. Very good players unable to get adequate play time

For sure. Tyler was looking square at Grenier, Madrigal, Atwood, Donahue in front of him. He had to move. And now Armstrong and George.

I liked Billy King, but NW Nazarene faces a much different caliber of pitching that at D1.

I liked Billy King, but NW Nazarene faces a much different caliber of pitching that at D1. For sure...no comparison to D1. On the other hand, I would think that Billy playing every day at Northwest Nazarene, and being the league player of the year, enhances his draft status over what it would have been as a part-time Beaver player. We'll see come June 12.
