Bring a backpack with snacks.......I brought my daughter when she was 4....having food keeps them occupied. Also you should contact the athletic department and make sure Benny Beaver makes an appearance in the outfield.

Oh, snacks and all the paraphernalia that go with managing him will be carried (I remember his father when he was that age). Bennie is a good idea, but it might have to happen in the first half inning cause I have no idea how he is going to respond to the environment - staying in one place is not his specialty I am hoping to get 3 innings out of him. He loves the Beavers tho, so I am hoping that this can extend that into long relief

Glad to hear your grandson can get permission to supervise you at an athletic event. Have a GREAT BEAVER DAY!

Of course the bookstore was in the old location, but close enough, and after about 3 innings she was all for getting a 'present' (jersey and cap). Of course she wanted to parade them in the stadium (no ticket worries then). So back to the game we went for another 3-4 innings. Between what we missed and saw it was almost 7 innings! At least at football games in those days she could just roll up in her sleeping bag and lay down on an empty bench!

We had a great time at the game. Glad we got there early because the SRO outfield wrist bands were going fast. Afraid the short tyke had to walk all over the place with me - to the bookstore (damage not as bad as feared), pictures at Reser, a walk all over the stadium to get pictures at the statue, in the Omaha Room museum with the NC trophies.
Grandma packed a great bag - the game got two innings, banana one, apple juice and goldfish two, and finally after 6 he was ready to go. But we listened to the rest of the game on the drive home.
I want to thank two people in particular. A brother of a friend of mine who works at the events was walking by the car as we got out and I introduced my grandson, said it was his first game and he reached into a bag he was carrying and pulled out an official baseball and gave it too him. Then, as we were walking by the pitchers area, Jake Mulholland came over and said hi to him, and autographed the ball. The ball made his day, Jake made mine - Going to try to get his father and him down for another game - still SRO since he is still too squirrely for the stay in your seat issues, but what a great day for a ball game! Go Beavs! (he knows how to shout that out).

I have never done the SRO outfield. So there is wristbands to stand there? Where do you get them? How is the experience out there?

Your story reminded me of my son's first Beaver Baseball game(s) about 18 years ago when he was around four. It was a double header with Washington (yeah, what was I thinking...) and in between games they wanted a young fan to go out and race Benny around the bases for prizes. Of course he was selected at random and we went out on the field, Benny went clockwise and my son went the normal route and the first one back to home won. My son's grasp of base running wasn't very good so when he arrived at first he ran a circle around the base; I told him to run around the bases and that's what he did. On to second for another loop and then third where he had to stop and inspect the John Deere tractor for a few minutes. All the while Benny is moving as slow as possible in order to let him win. He ended up with an extra large t-shirt, some sun glasses, stickers and one of the umpires came over and gave him a game ball. He held tight to that ball until he fell asleep about the second inning of game two.

I have never done the SRO outfield. So there is wristbands to stand there? Where do you get them? How is the experience out there? Ushers at the stairs up to the deck have them, and the large platform next to the scoreboard has a 75 person limit, the small one in right center I am not sure about. It's first come, first serve, and the view is good enough that you can still yell at the ump if you think he's got a bad strike zone. You can see the big score board at an angle, and they have a small light bulb scoreboard opposite the bleachers/platforms on the wall down the third base a bit before Banners to keep track. I've enjoyed the experience and since no chairs are allowed, it's really good exercise too.
