Opinions are fine. Trying to say your opinion is more right than someone else's is not. I try not to give my opinion about what's going to happen in June, because I have watched exactly zero innings of NCAA baseball that havent involved Oregon State. I have no idea how good Louisville is, or how good North Carolina is (man, I hope we get to beat them in Omaha again). So do I expect us to make it to Omaha? Sure. Will I be looking for someone to blame or ask what player needs their scholly yanked if we falter in the Supers or (god forbid) a regional? Nope. That's what happens in tournaments. Best team doesn't always win. It's essentially the reverse college football playoff argument. Everyone wanted the CFP so the best team could be "decided on the field." That's rarely what happens. As was stated before, the #1 seed hasn't fared well in this tournament. There's been a couple cases of teams that were 4 seeds in their regional winning the whole enchilada. We were not the best team in the nation in 2007. We were the best team in the nation for a couple weeks in June.

I predicted this team would be "GOOD!" but I never dreamed of this good.
Here is where I need a counseling session.... I love being #1 and all but the #1 National Seed just hasn't done well in this tournament. Just going by Memory but feel free to spend some time researching who was the last #1 seed to win it all?
Maybe I'm scarred from our last #1 seed Tourney experience.
Please give me wise counsel or some Dr Phil time here to bring me back around.
And before you call me superstitious... YES I am and I don't know why.... I just am!
Go BEAVS!

For whatever reason, a significant portion of our fan base looks for the negative when the Beavs start having success. I guess that's what playing second fiddle does to a lot of folks, who think that the sun rises and sets on football. We have lots of historical reasons to be insecure about football, but NOT baseball. When it comes to baseball, we have owned this state, and will continue to own it. It's called being real. Every team has flaws. Only certain types see them as "negatives" vs critiques and some obvious weaknesses. I'd rather be honest than a Pollyanna who then makes lame unfounded excuses why a team doesn't reach "their" expectations... that like the critiques are pure opinion. 34-4... 19-19... the same weaknesses are there. It has nothing to do with success or a "2nd fiddle" mentality. Hahahaha .... hahahaha ... someone called you Pollyanna ... hahahaha ... hahahaha ....

Well, as I recall, the 2007 team didn't pass the "eye" test; but they ended up passing the "We" test. I think we as fans need to pass the "we" test too; no team is perfect, but no Beaver team has managed what this one has in the regular season (so far). The idea that this squad has a great chance to get back to Omaha for the 5th time this century is what we should be supporting. Tho that #1 seed thing has me a bit bothered too

YES I am and I don't know why.... I just am! Go BEAVS! Correct, hasn't gone well for #1 seed or top 8 seeds for that matter. 1999 was the last time the #1 seed won it all. Recently: 2016 Coastal Carolina > Arizona (both unseeded) 3 out of 8 national seeds to the CWS 2015 Virginia > Vandy (both unseeded), 4 out of 8 seeds to CWS 2014 Vandy > Virginia (Vandy unseeded, Virginia #3) Beavs #1 Seed, only 2 of 8 Nat Seeds made it to CWS. 2013 UCLA > Miss St (both unseeded), 3 out of 8 2012 Arizona > S. Carolina (Zona unseeded, SC #8), 4 out of 8 So it appears that the #1 seed is long overdue to roll through the tournament and it appears that we should be the #1 seed. Case Closed...Done. Book the flight.

To me saying that the number 1 seed is cursed or something is like saying the 2 through 8 seeds are cursed. The same with saying the number #15 ranked team is cursed. When was the last time the 2-8 seeded teams won it all or when was the last time #15 ranked team won it all. Only 1 team wins it all each year so you could randomly choose any number for ranking or seeding and the chances are really high that is has been a long time since that ranking or seeding has won.
I do know that the 65th selected team has never won the championship.
