Apparently she's related to Steph Curry or the child of Steph Curry's godparents or something like that. Anyway, supposedly she's just a freshman or sophomore, 6-3, 6-4 but moves like a point guard. Already on ESPN's watch list for top 100 or something like that. So, clearly a great talent with the body to boot. I told my friend who told me about her that I'm sure the Beavs are on to her. Weird that I I haven't read anything about her on here. Anybody know who I'm talking about and, if so, what's the scoop on her? Interest in the Beavs?

I'm pretty sure you are talking about Cameron Brink, 6-4 and yes, handles the ball like a guard. She's on a lot of radars, including the Beavers. She follows OSU women's basketball on Twitter and the assistant coaches follow her. I saw film of her and my impression is that she's going to be a superstar with a lot of colleges after her. I hadn't heard anything about her being related to Curry.

There was an O live story on her & Curry. IIRC they were neighbors or something while he was growing up.

On Prospect Nation, the class of 2020 has about 150 girls listed. Only 2 are rated, a girl out of Texas and Cameron Brink. She is rated 5-stars. I'm impressed. Looking at her twitter account, she follows coach Rueck and Mikayla Pivec. Go coach Rueck, get her to Corvallis.

Seems to me I might have seen them at the OSU/UCLA women's game last year. After the game my wife and her friend and I were done on the floor and there was a very tall family down by the end of the bench. I'm a tad over six feet and the woman and daughter both had a couple inches on me, a tall bald dude and then a blond kid who looked to be pushing 6'9"-6'11" or thereabouts. Does she have a brother who looks like he can play? One of the kids was wearing an ankle cast at the time.

Cameron Brink and her mother (and likely other family members) attended women's games at Gill this past season. They were easy to spot. Both Cameron and her mother look athletic. I have heard great reports not only about Cameron's basketball ability but about what kind of teammate she is and how she treats others. Interesting to note that Cameron has opted to play AAU basketball this spring and summer with her Southridge HS teammates (see second link below) on the NW Stars Black team. That can only strengthen that squad's quest to repeat as Oregon 6A state champion in '17-'18. While many top AAU players try to surround themselves with the best talent that travel/practicing will allow, Brink seems to recognize the value of training and competing with the players with whom she attends high school. That tells me something about how she values her friendships and relationships. koin.com/2017/03/12/jefferson-southridge-win-state-6a-basketball-titles/www.nwstars.net/rosters-2017.html

beavershoopfan - -I'm new to the board so a bit of a delay responding to your post about Cameron Brink...... I did not know much about her connections with OSU before I read your post. I'm glad she has some first-hand experience with the Beavs and The Program. At least the Beavs will know they're getting an honest shot at her signature in a few years...
One additional reason why she is not playing with a High Profile AAU team might be that she and her parents know that she is a top-flight talent. Getting recognition or outside confirmation is not necessary. So, play with your high school friends, keep it basic, have fun and still be a household name in National Recruiting circles....
At any rate, thanks for posting the info on CB and her family.
