If the season ended today OSU would have the 5th best win percentage all time in a college baseball season. It would be the best win percentage since 1982.

Who had the numbers in 1982, and did they end up in Omaha that year?
How did the others do, in regards to Omaha?

I am guessing that you are talking about Texas' 59-6 record in 1982? Texas was 53-4 in the regular season in 1982. The best Oregon State can do this year is 49-4 in the regular season. The Beavers would have to go 4-0 in the postseason to tie Texas' regular season record. Texas then went 4-0 in its regional to go 57-4, heading into the College World Series, going 2-2 and losing to runner-up Wichita State to finish 57-6. Oregon State could surpass that record only by winning the national championship.

The "eye test"? The only fans seriously concerned about that have questionable eyesight to begin with!
I also recall an article from earlier in the season about a scout watching the Beavers. Which players? "All of them." Anyone remember specifically where that quote came from?

Deciding game was 1-0 Best winning percentage of all time: 1972 Arizona State 64-6 .914 1982 Texas 59-6 .908 1974 Arizona 58-6 .906 1975 Texas 56-6 .903 Heading to Omaha: 1972 Arizona State 60-4 .938 1982 Texas 57-4 .934 1975 Texas 52-5 .912 1974 Arizona 58-6 .906 Regular season: 1972 Arizona State 58-4 .935 1974 Arizona 58-4 .9351982 Texas 53-4 .930 1975 Texas 49-5 .907 The only team that Oregon State could catch in the regular season would be 1975 Texas and that would involve turning the current 2-game winning streak into a 16-game winning streak, i.e. win the next 14 games. As mentioned before the Beavers could pass 1982 Texas' regular season record by sweeping the next 14 and then sweeping the Corvallis Regional and Corvallis Super Regional. The Beavers could only pass 1972 Arizona State and 1974 Arizona's regular season record by winning the next 14 and then going a perfect 10-0 in the postseason.
