FYI, you won't be able to read the entire article unless you have a subscription to D1baseball. I read it earlier and was able to see the whole article. Now when I click on the link it is indeed only the first paragraph or two. I will say, it was a very well written and LONG article. Numerous quotes from PC and many of the players.

Robert A. Smith · Co-host (radio) Recovery Now Radio Bible Study at KGNW Seattle
Very impressed with Oregon State. The pitching staff should take them deep into the playoffs. However, upon closer examination of this past weekends series, the better team might have been UCLA. In the opener, after an almost no hit performance, Oregon State let the game get away in the bottom of the 9th and and it was off to extra innings. UCLA and Jake Bird lost it in the 10th inning kudos to Oregon State for the comeback. Game 2 a one sided win for the young Bruins 7-1. On to game 3, well pitched by both squads through 6.
Make your prediction now- UCLA and Oregon St in the CWS final series!

OSU had just come off a 23 game win streak, they were due to have a bit of a slump (they were hitting over 300 in Pac-12 play), and UCLA has good pitching. But OSU has the cajones to keep winning when they aren't at their best. I think we have some fuskie whining here, sour grapes.

Only 7 of the last 19 are at home. Road series against USC, Wazzu, and Oregon. Road midweek games against Long Beach State, Cal State Fullerton, and UC Irvine. Home series against Cal Poly and Utah. Home midweek game against San Diego State. Not looking good for the Bruins. They really needed the two that they dropped to the Beavers. The Bruins' 8-10 non-conference record and 131st non-conference RPI do them no favors.

To say the Beavers looked weak? Sure, I can understand that. To say UCLA looks like CWS material after losing a Pac-12 home series? That's absurd. They are unlikely to make the tournament, and if they did, they'd have to beat teams that are playing AT WORST as poorly as Oregon State did over the weekend, not lose to them.

Still need a 10-8 record down the back 18 at the bare minimum. 7 of the last 18 are at home.

How funny, all it is going to take is a record above 500 and a couple of Pac-12 teams can get into the tourney. The bar was a lot higher last year I guess I am just trying to project a record that the Tournament would consider. UCLA can make the tournament at 29-26, but I doubt that they can get an at large bid at 28-27. California right now is also on the outside looking in. They need to get hot, in order to get an at large bid. At least 10-6. Next five weekends are @ Washington, a midweek game against San Francisco, @oregon State, Stanford, TCU, and @ Arizona. Tough to see 10 wins there. Stanford is currently 18 in RPI and looks like it is in a great position to snare an at large spot. Washington is 51 in RPI. Most sites have them in, but Baseball America has them as one of the first three teams out. Arizona is currently in sixth in the conference but ninth in RPI, so most sites have a Tucson Regional. Utah is seventh but has an RPI of 33. Most sites have them in. Baseball America has them as one of the last three in. Oregon is also on the bubble in eighth with an RPI of 56. Generally out in most sites. Baseball America has them in the first seven out. Most sites are talking about 5-6 in this year. Last year the Pac-12 got four. Utah was in, so Oregon State was out. Utah was at the top with a 6-16 non-conference record. Hard to argue five-six bids with the Utes on top. I think that you could, but Utah just made the conference look bad. If the Pac-12 had a conference tournament last year, the conference may have received 5-6 bids. The lack of a conference tournament continues to kill the conference annually. You could also argue that Oregon State had a better resume than Arizona State (head-to-head) or Washington (RPI), so they should have been the last of the three to get left out. Instead, they were the one that was. Hatchet job by Washington. It is still ridiculous that Washington's head coach had a say in whether Oregon State or Washington was the last team in.
