Good to see that kid get some quality innings pitched and quality pitching. 5 2/3 nice day on the mound. His throwing style, high velocity right hander is something we didn't have on the staff (without Raz). Having that as an option from the pen can play big down the road.
Developing those guys is part of building this team for the post season.

Developing those guys is part of building this team for the post season. High velocity guy out of the pen. Thompson has been gunned in the mid 90s, even as high as 97, which I consider high velo. It was great to see Grant find himself out there. Hopefully some of those other guys will keep Mulholland out of games this weekend. I think he could use some rest. |

Never considered Thompson in the bullpen since he busted out early in the season. Hickey has some heat but he's not the straight throw it by you, swing and miss buy like Gambrell can be. Gambrell fits in real nice right behind Fehmel. and then Mad Max and the funky motion to close. |
