Mariners RHP Andrew Moore, Double-A Arkansas: 7 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, 1 HR, 83 pitches, 64 strikes -- The Mariners' No. 4 prospect is turning his outings into must-watch stuff. After scattering three hits over 13 scoreless innings in his first two starts, the 22-year-old right-hander, who entered in the second inning after rehabbing reliever Steve Cishek got the start, finally allowed a run Monday on a solo homer by San Antonio's Nick Schulz, but he was otherwise stingy. In fact, his 83 pitches were the fewest of any his outings this year, even though his seven frames marked a season high. Moore has struck out 16 while allowing only 12 batters to reach base over 19 innings for the Travelers. With 127 1/3 Double-A innings on his resume dating back to last season with Jackson, he seems ready for the test of the Pacific Coast League, whenever the Mariners want to make the move. www.milb.com/milb/news/prospect-roundup-games-of-april-17-featuring-andrew-moore-nick-senzel-ronald-guzman/c-225018120/t-185364810

They won't bring him up until sometime in May. Before that, he reaches arb status a year earlier. cut off date to start the arbitration clock for a player who is not on the 40 man roster is April 17th, pack your bags Andrew ! The April 17 date is the date that a player gains a year of full on service time, meaning he can reach free-agency a year later/earlier depending on if he comes to MLB before or after that date. The "super two" date is in mid-late June. Coming up before that date gets you to arbitration a year sooner vs if you come up after the "super two" date and get to arbitration a year later. Generally, teams only play games around the "super two" and the early April time with their most elite prospects. Guys like Kris Bryant and Andrew Benintendi, or other 1st round prospects. I suspect they won't screw around with Moore if they actually need him to fill a hole in the rotation.
