Do they think baseball is going to generate revenue? This seems like a bad decision.

Too bad because if you had the right coach you could have really built something with Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Eastern Washington & Montana having plenty of solid recruits...

Wow, this sucks. This seriously hurts the conference and if they continue to sponsor/sanction the sport. With 5 teams now, not sure what will happen. None of it good though. WTF

Interesting... I wonder if this is to prepare for the athletic department to join a Power 5 conference?

From reading further, it looks like the city is going to be building a new downtown baseball stadium for thEirik minor league team across the river from their campus.

One of the commenters suggests that the prez has the idea that if he just adds all the sports that the Pac-12 schools have and adds a few grad programs, he can get BSU into the Pac-12. I have a hard time believing that a college prez could be that delusional. BSU has zero chance of getting into the Pac in his lifetime, and the events of the past few years should have made that clear. Of course, he might just say things like that to boosters, along with, ". . . your donation might just be the one that puts us over the top . . . "
