I hope he's patient. We've got 2 pretty good middles returning plus a damn fine player that can't get on the field.

The article says Grant is a junior so he'll be here when Madrigal and Grenier are seniors (and unlikely to still be in Corvallis).

As I'm sitting here getting drenched watching my 7 year old granddaughter's track practice, I'm reminded how impressed I am that Coach Casey can recruit great baseballers to play ball in western Oregon during the "Spring...."That's impressive!

Especially the ones NOT from the NW... not sure how ASU, Zona, SC, UCLA don't draw better?! But, there are LOTS of quality baseballers around this country... LOTS of quality programs. PC not only is able to recruit them, he has really turned a corner where I thought some the "highly rated" recruiting classes really did not fit into his style.

It is pretty amazing considering the obvious weather issues in the northwest - even though we play a lot of games in dry climates. I agree about the makeup of highly-ranked classes through the years, too. There have been some teams with a lot of talent over the past decade that just didn't seem to gel quite as well. What PC has done a great job of in recruiting is to keep northwest kids home - and there are plenty of highly-talented ones in Oregon and Washington. They generally fit us very well. They know what they're getting in terms of weather, etc., but since PC has solidified OSU as one of the premiere programs in the country, these kids know that they don't have to run to the sun to play top level baseball!
