Goals for the weekend: Take series Unshackle from "the streak" Give huskies hope, and then crush them, stand by and watch them shlt the bed Learn to not swing at bad pitches It seems like this beav team still has a lot of ceiling left. The bulwarks of a championship team are there: Great Starting pitching, Defensive Mastery up the middle, Good bats throughout the lineup. But need to see a killer instinct develop in the second half. Need to see every relief guy be ready when they take the mound (hickey looked a little off yesterday). Need more of that cool, calm confidence ala Madrigal staring down Menier and letting the pressure crush him. Beavs are THE MAN and that's a weapon in, itself. Make these teams feel the pressure of playing the best.

Speaking of Madrigal, I noticed that one of the announcers (I think it was Roxie) said that he thinks Nick is the best all-around player in college baseball. The kid is really something, even when the hits aren't there on a given day!

I think the killer instinct has been clearly demonstrated in the way this team never gives up, and has come out on the top side of so many close games. What I think we need is to shift from the power potential we have to more power in certain situations. Altho KJ was batting about .265 last year with 10 home runs, this year he is stuck on three home runs but has his average up to .350 or so, so perhaps it's not as important as it seems to me to be.

Morgan completes that swing and perception is totally different. He will be fine.
