AZ dropped the quacks 5-4 tonight, holding off a furious quack attack comeback.
Most notable offensive stat: 5 ducks Hit By Pitch (including 4 in the final 3 innings). Through their previous 33 games, the U of Arizona staff had committed an average of 0.94 hbp per game.
Ducks - one hell of an exciting brand a ball that squad plays!! No wonder they "pack 'em in" down there in Eugene.

I wonder if Horton played at a high level and if he used the hbp strategy to further his career.

43 HBPs compared to the Beavs 15. Helps to even up the edge in hits, which the Beavs hold by 52.

They tried that HBP crap in Goss last year. Umpire told the kid to get his ass back in the box. Horton protested, and that was the last time they tried it. I blame blue for letting the Quacks get away with this stuff. It's a hell of a way to play baseball.

It's consistent with the philosophy of the team, the athletic department, hell, the entire institution.

It's consistent with the philosophy of the team, the athleic department, hell the entire institution. Said economically: If you aren't cheating you aren't trying

Well if I'm pitching to a duck, I'd want to hit them too.
