That was a terrible f'ing call. Tag was in middle of back with hand on the bag. Anytime, anytime, you see a tag that far away from the bag, the runner is safe.

This pitching backwards thing can bite you if your "long" guy is getting lit up. 2 dudes doing ok are done for the day.... What now Coach? Maybe trying to be smarter than everyone else is going to bite him today. Sure hope so. It's basically a bulls%#t gimmick...which is why hardly anyone uses it. I think Lou Piniella brought up the idea when he was managing the Devil Rays and his bullpen was blowing all kinds of leads. |

Still 3-1 us after 6 complete Fehmel doing very well today. 6 IP, 6 hits 1 BB, 5 SO, 1 ER. Solid stuff! Bullpen setup and closer both rested. Bodes well. BUT! this IS Baseball....so....who knows !!??!! "Insurance" would be nice. |

UPDATE: Fehmel did SUPER today. 6.2 IP, 6 hits 2 BB, 5 SO, 1 ER. Eisert in to finish the 7th (groundout to 1B)

MORE insurance is always good. Gretler leads off 8th w a 2B. Fundamentals should produce at least 1 run. Test ahead to see if Pat Casey's lessons have been learned. Answer: or a follow-up 2B by Rutschman is even BETTER! 5-1 no one out top 8th
