espn3.com has live cameras on each event, so you can watch the Beavs real time.
Beavs opened up on Floor, and after 1 rotation are tied with Utah for 1st, with Washington close behind at 3rd. Oklahoma and UCLA had byes in the first rotation, so the standings are without those big hitters.
I'm looking for live online score/standing updates, but not having much luck so far.

Here are the teams in OSU's session. Beavs need to finish in top 3 to advance to the Super Six (which they have never done):
Utah UCLA UW Denver Oklahoma OSU
This is a favorable session. We should be able to beat out Denver and UW, and should compete with any of the other 3 except probably UCLA.

Beavs scored 49.000 on Vault in the second rotation, which comes just behind Utah's 49.0875 from the first rotation.
OSU now gets a bye for the 3rd rotation. After the 3rd rotation, we'll be able to assess the true standings halfway through. Looks like UCLA killed it on the bars. Oklahoma scored slightly higher than the Beavs did on Floor.
Right now, it looks like we're slotting in right where should, at 4th. We need to figure out how to edge either Oklahoma or Utah to make it into the top 3 and advance.

Hmmm, looks like UW edged in front of us after they completed their 2nd rotation on the beam (we're the only two teams to have two rotations completed).
UW 98.2250 OSU 98.0875
Based on average score per gymnast, we're currently in 5th. Not feeling very confident right now...

Kaytianna McMillan had a huge step on her vault, and her score was dropped. That really hurts from our best all-arounder...

Ok, I've seen 2 Oklahoma vaults that had big steps, and they were both scored 9.825, and similar steps from us resulted in 9.775's. Maybe it's an RQS (difficulty) thing. Oklahoma ended up with 49.35 on Vault, waaay more than us. They are out of reach.

The good news: UCLA had a fall on beam, and their star gymnast had a huge stumble and barely stayed on. So they left a small opening (edit: which they later closed with monster 9.96 and 9.91 scores).
The bad news: Denver killed it on their Floor rotation (scored higher than we did) and pulled ahead of us.
Standings halfway through, after 3 rotations (all teams have 2 rotations completed):
1) UCLA 98.7250 2) Oklahoma 98.7000 3) Denver 98.2250 4) Washington 98.2250 5) Utah 98.1750 6) OSU 98.0875
Well, s%#t.

UCLA and Oklahoma are in a different galaxy.
The other 4 are all within 0.015 points. If we relax and outperform, we could pull it off. Just wish we weren't on the bottom looking up...

We're done. First 3 bar routines were all sub-9.8 (and weren't even close). Oh, and the 4th was a dismal 9.45 (must have been a fall?). Unfortunately I didn't see them; tried tuning in to the espn2 broadcast to see if they showed the RQS to see if difficulty is an issue with our scoring. But they're ignoring the last-place team and focusing on the top performers.
Just watched McMillan's routine on the live cam (with no commentary), and she had a tiny hop but only scored 9.7375. Now I _KNOW_ McMillan won't be shirking on the difficulty modifier. Must have been a screw-up I didn't notice.
Our bars anchor (Aufiero) had a flawless routine, stuck the landing hard, and scored 9.8875. Can't buy a 9.9.
Our average score per gymnast actually went down. Utah killed it on Beam and looks to be locking up the 3rd spot.
Yet another disappointing year at Nationals. Coach Chaplin gets the best out of these girls week in and week out, until they hit nationals. She just has not figured out the mystery of getting these kids' heads on straight on the national stage. Very frustrating...

Well, we closed out with a VERY strong beam rotation with a couple 9.9's to pull ahead of Denver, but still behind Washington who is also done after 5 rotations. Guess we were finally relaxed. Entering the 6th rotation now, but Beavs have a bye and are done. Final score: 196.3625. Not bad, but not nearly good enough. Will post final standings after the last rotation.

In comparison, we scored a 197.100 at the Pac-12 championships. If we had a similar performance, I think it might have been enough today. Sigh...

Final results from this session:
1) Oklahoma: 197.7250 2) UCLA: 197.5000 3) Utah: 197.0500 4) UW: 196.5625 5) Denver: 196.4750 6) OSU: 196.3625
Couldn't even beat out Denver. Another last-place finish at Nationals. Disappointing...

Hey, turn that frown upside down, Jimbo. Say it this way: "Another finish at Nationals!" When is the last time you saw Denver even make the Nationals? Yes, you shoot for excellence, but don't $hit on the season because they didn't win it all, again. Focus on the fact that they made it there, again!

I never s%#t on this season; they had a great season. I'm down on this performance, which mirrors every other performance they've had at Nationals. I've been following our gymnastics program and attending meets on and off since I attended OSU back in the early 90s (and if you remember what both our football and basketball programs were like in the early 90s, you'll understand why I became such a big OSU gymnastics fan). And it frustrates me to see them hit this wall again and again, over and over...
