Of course we all want another sweep (especially against these bastages), but a series win should always be acceptable against a conference foe, right...?
Their record: 19-12 overall 6-3 conference 10-5 at home 9-7 away
Their only series sweep for the season came against Utah at home (3-1, 4-3, 4-1) and they have split 4 game series' with Saint Mary's and Indiana St. In conference they had the Utah sweep, went 1-2 against tsdtr, and 2-1 against fUCLA last weekend
Team BA: 2.53 Team ERA: 2.84
Anyone know much about their Friday pitcher? Is it Bremer; 3-2, 2.19 ERA?
I say SWEEP!

They might be the best team we've played overall. I believe they lead the league in D also. And, the "overall" takes into account that the weather won't effect them as it did Zona. And Stanford not as good in weather away from sunken diamond.
Getting out of town with 2-1 would be a good thing. Sweeping incredible. Tonight is key... need to hush the puppies right away, give them no thought they can compete with us.

They are seen as a top 30 team, and if they can dominate everyone else in league but us, are a playoff team. Good arms, capable hitters, 10% chance Beaver sweep, 60% chance of a Beaver 2-1, 20% chance of 1-2 and 10% chance of a sweep of us. Maybe that 70% chance of a series win/sweep is too high, but we have been rolling the dice and coming up 7's a lot lately. Go Beavs.

UW is similar to OS in build, good pitching, strong defense and enough power to matter. Same model, they just are not quite as good as the Beavs. Morgan is the best catcher they've faced I'm interested to see the cat-n-mouse game when Madrigal gets on.
Demers (Sunday) is a really good thrower, their starters are solid I just don't think UW can put the number of capable arms out there that OS can. Oregon state is a better team, the defining factor will be pitching, range up the middle and small ball execution. OS may drop a game, but they'll take the series.

Madrigal needs to get on period... he's in a mini slump. Need him on! That mid-season grind is upon us. Prob the key reason the Tuesday was cancelled... it wasn't weather, we've played in much worse.

Tonight is key... need to hush the puppies right away, give them no thought they can compete with us. Under Pat Casey, it has been my experience that Oregon State does well offensively against teams that have poor fundamentals and does poorly against teams with good fundamentals. Right now, Washington is 2nd in the nation in fielding percentage. Washington is also 32nd in the nation in ERA. Of the Beavers' opponents so far, only Nebraska has a better ERA. Washington is 28th in WHIP, tops among Oregon State opponents, so far. Hopefully, the pitchers are dealing this weekend, because I think that runs will be in short supply. Washington also has not lost a home series yet and that includes a three-game set against Baylor, who is third in the Big 12 in RPI. And you can add in the fact that Oregon State is on the road for only the third time this season (Arizona State four weeks ago and St. Mary's-Stanford-Portland two weeks ago). I agree with baseba1111. If Oregon State can get in Washington's head early and either boat race them or make them start making mistakes, the Beavers can sweep. However, if Washington comes out strong, the Huskies could easily walk away with this one.

I am very interested in seeing how this series plays out. Road games. Good competition. Lots of close games this year that have gone our way. Late game heroics that have gone our way. High emotion (potentially) regarding last year's tourney snub...etc. If the Beavs can win the series-or sweet baby jesus sweep the series-we REALLY DO have something going this year. Will we do it? I don't know. Can we do it? ABSOLUTELY!!!
(From a personal/fan perspective, I am a lot more in line with eugendave's thoughts on the subject. I hope the series extends into Sunday because we keep scoring so many runs. There is no clock in baseball. Gotta get at least 27 outs)

There is one point which should be the deciding factor and that is REVENGE! We have a bone to pick with them and should get some extra juices flowing.

Man, that must have made you feel sssssssooooooooooooo gooooooooooooooooooooooood. I get mercy rule...non-TV game time limits, 3rd game in a series with a visiting team traveling etc, etc, etc. My sentiment stands. I can hope for it to happen, doesn't mean it will or even could. As you like to often point out, reading comprehension would be appreciated.

Do you even know what my humor (attempted as with your demeanor it was a wasted effort) was regarding? ? I mean I did not spell it out as I thought is pretty funny that peeps on here like to correct the smallest of errors. But... since you're sooooooooo defensive I'm assuming you do not!

Another item about this series, is not necessarily the opposition, but the time of year. OSU hasn't won a series on Easter weekend since 2011, which is also the last time OSU was home for Easter.
