OSU signee Taya Corosdale (Bothell HS in Bothell, Washington) is among 24 of the nation's top girls Class of 2017 basketball players who will be competing this Friday, April 14 in the 2017 Jordan Brand Classic (JBC) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The JBC is regarded as the second-best post season all-star game that a senior can be invited to, trailing only the annual McDonald's All-American Game in Chicago. Many of the 24 players invited to play in the JBC also played in the McDonald's All-American Game on March 29, including South Salem's Evina Westbrook. Satou Sabally (Oregon) and Kiana Williams (Stanford) will also be playing in the JBC along with Corosdale. Both Sabally and Williams took official visits to Corvallis during 2016 prior to opting to play for other schools. It has been reported that OSU came in second in the recruitments for both of those highly-regarded Class of 2017 players. UO's all-world girl, Sabally, had 1 pt and 0 assists in 17 minutes. That seems hard to accomplish in a game where her team scored 122 points. Was she overmatched here? Or was she that out of sync with everyone else?

I didn't watch enough of the JBC to get a sense of how skilled Sabally is at her 6'3"/6'4" height. I have seen her listed anywhere from 6'2" to 6'4" recently. The article below confirms that OSU had her in for an official visit prior to Sabally opting to sign with the Ducks. I wouldn't read too much into a foreign player in the JBC game having a difficult time stats-wise adjusting to new teammates and a "shoot first" all-star game mentality. From all accounts that I have heard, Sabally is very athletic and versatile for a big. www.espn.com/espnw/sports/article/19148257/oregon-ducks-women-basketball-recruit-satou-sabally-takes-game-jordan-brand-classic

I'm just spoiled by all the ink spilled over male recruits. Sabally is anywhere from a 3* to a 5* recruit. Graves says she's the greatest player in the world, and I see in the U16 league two years ago she was a 20pts/10reb performer. But in more recent U18 competition, she hasn't been nearly as successful. If this was MBB, we'd have detailed analysis of every aspect of her game. Instead we just have a few scraps of information, none of which tell us much of anything.

He'll bring her down to the 3* level. There is only one ball and sharing seems to be a issue in that program. He's no Geno... meshing great talents is a skill I do not see him having.
