They have tomorrow circled! If you don't know PC he has little use for looking past anyone. And if a few players and their parents are to be believed, PC has not brought up Meggs one time as motivation for this year. His message has centered on taking care of business and all will fall into place without "discussion". PC has little need or use for "outside" motivators. He and the staff are not bulletin board types and are great motivators in their own right. The Meggs "crap" is all about fan hate. In private an "assistant" is quite adamant about his feelings towards UW/Meggs. But, as most coaches know playing on "revenge motivation" is not the way to go. Playing for OSU here and now and shaking their hands after you hand them their arse in Seattle is the best medicine one can dish out. Coaches will be fired up... but, are the epitome of class. As fans... go after Meggs all you want. It's just not PC's public persona. |

PC doesn't need to remind the guys they were jobbed by Meggs last year. They damned well know they were. I refuse to believe that part of their fire this year isn't from that little incident at the end of May. I have no idea what Pat said to them that day, but you can be sure it sunk in and has chapped theIr collective ass all year.
The fans can think whatever they want. The players will determine the outcome of this series.
I will be like Luke Skywalker, and let the hate flow thru me. The Huskies are the Dark Side. Let's destroy the Death Star.

A little contempt and scorn for the other dugout should always be part of a winning recipe. Baseball ain't a game of nice. I was a couple rows back up from the fluketah dugout and heard plenty of chirping and cat noises when they got that run across on Sunday. The way the beavs immediately responded in their next at bat was clearly born of dark hearts. This is a team of nasty piss n vinegar competitors it seems. |
