Pretty dangerous team.. Took 2 of 3 from San Diego this past weekend (USD previously ranked #19), split a 2 game series with UW, some other quality wins - split with Cal, took one vs Fullerton... So is it Tweedt with a pretty short leash? Britton? Given that Eisert and Mulholland threw a bunch, I'd assume we save them for UW, especially with the Thursday start. I liked having a comfortable lead yesterday. We should do that more often.

Zags have always given us fits, even in our World Series years.

If Grenier continues his fine hitting, having him moved up in the batting order, like yesterday, could be a huge factor for the remaining PAC 12 schedule. Against the Zags, if a save situation arises, perhaps Mitch Hickey could continue his 'comeback'. He only threw 9 pitches yesterday, and was outstanding.

I hate saying this, but the streak will end at some point, and I'd prefer dropping one OOC game to the Zags, versus losing any to Lindsay's bitches (not that those are the only two options).
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see the O State Ballers not lose again this season, but that's not realistic. I'm not sure if these guys are feeling any added pressure to keep the streak alive, but sometimes a loss can help the focus. And we'll need to be focused like a basehead on a crack rock to blow the mutts out, three-straight, and send then falling down the standings with their tails between their legs.
Or... just win them all. What the hell.

Just like any streak, and baseball is one sport that has a ton of them! hitting streaks, stolen bases, hitless innings, you name it there is a streak, then their is the superstitions that surround the streak. We have been living a charmed life. no reason to think it ends on Tuesday, but if it does, well it just pays to have some levity. 28-1 is a helluva record, so would 28-2. This is a good team, and if we keep the focus strong, no reason we are not a national seed, even with a couple of Ls along the way. I also agree, that nothing less than a 3 game butting kicking of the mutts is in order!

These Tuesday games seem to be a trap for us as well....
Regarding Mitch, I was so happy to see him and have him pitch well. My observation, from 3b seats is that he was throwing his slider/sinker for the most part. I'm worried his other pitches have not returned to the effectiveness of his freshman year. I had the feeling that he is remaking himself... too harsh?
Curious what other observed, from other seats with different perspectives on his mix of pitches.
Don't get me wrong, the sink on that offspeed pitch is nasty and exactly what you need for a swing and miss or rollover ground ball.
Lastly, lets beat the Huskies! and getting the staff rested on this short turnaround is going to be important! I think Max, Verburg and Grant are going to have to carry the load Tuesday and Thursday. Look for Mulholand to be back on Friday/Saturday.

Tweedt,Britton,Gambrel Engelbrekt and Hickey (if needed) Tweedt's gotta get a quality start, the other guys have to be on pitch counts that makes them available Friday/Saturday. The Zags are sitting in the same spot, just with less quality arms to put out there than Oregon State. GU threw 6 guys over the weekend, OS threw eight, five shelved until the Washington series: Heimlich, Fehmel, Thompsom, Mulholland, Eisert.
