are the named dugouts new? Don't recall seeing names before tonight? BTW, Gary Baker is Terry Baker's brother. I am not aware of any other connection or whether Gary played baseball at OSU but thought that was interesting.

Gary Baker played in the early 60's. The Oregon State dugout has been called the Gary Baker Dugout for at least 15 years. Gary Baker was one of Terry Baker's two older brothers, two years older than Terry. Gary played on the 1959-1961 teams. The 1960 season was supposed to be very wet and the primary reason why Terry Baker gave up baseball. The 1961 team finished one game behind Washington State for the Pacific Coast Conference title. Washington State got swept by eventual national champion, USC, in what amounted to a Super Regional in Pullman. Gary Baker joined the Mets organization after the 1961 season and made it to Class B. (Roughly AA today.) He was a big donor to the Oregon State baseball team before his death in 1995 from Lou Gehrig's Disease.
