The rest of the conference is really helping the Beaver RPI. They are 108-64 (.627) OOC. Only Cal (8-8) and UCLA (7-9) are not carrying their load. Giving how important RPI is for seeding/placement in post season, it is helpful that our conference foes win their OOC games. Yes, even tsdtr. (You do realize that if OSU goes 30-0, the rest of the conference is 30 games under .500)
Our OOC teams are 121-127 without the burden of Oregon State (122-142 total). Be nice to seem them winning a few conference games. UP and Abilene Christian need to start crawling out of the toilet because it is swirling real fast.

Has anyone got a significant team to play non-conference left this season? We got the lousy luck of the draw to have our bye week at the very end and put up 4 games against one of the worst teams in the US, and other than the Dirtbags, there aren't a lot of quality RPI teams on the West Coast to take on this year for anyone in conference to play without making a long trip to the SE or East coast. You know they won't come out here. We keep winning and it isn't so much of an issue for us, but for the rest of the P12 it is a big stinger. I listed to the Baseball America one hour podcast yesterday and it was all east of the Rockies; hardly any mention of the Beavs, and the only discussion of the Pac-12 was if we could get more than 4 teams in the field of 64.
SEC, ACC and forget the rest I guess.

Speaking of Cal, they end the season with these 4 series: At OSU, vs Stanford, vs TCU, at Arizona. That's what you might call a buzzsaw.

Welp, if that is all that is left that is "quality, that leaves 9 other teams with pretty pitiful RPI paths to the end of the season outside of conference. And yes, Cal is either going to fold, or have to grow up bigtime down that stretch. Go Beavs!

Hard for me to understand but a hole win over UP at UP counts double what a Beaver win over UP at UP does. And, UP vs Gonzaga hurts because it is a .500 result that moves an RPI over .500 down. Only way to come out ahead is beat them both.

A vs B counts. Hey, it is your game and it is a fact. B vs C counts. Yes, I understand that your opponents' record should matter a little but DOUBLE what you do? C vs D counts. Just as much as A vs B. WTF are we doing? Playing six degrees of Kevin Bacon? It really matters if Little Sisters of the Poor beats Boys Town as much as OSU beating Portland just because Portland played Little Sisters of the Poor in a mid-week game? This RPI formula is nuts.
