24-1 is AWESOME... but it is baseball. The "other shoe will drop", it is the way the game works. We have 21 games left in league which truly all that matters because as of now we have only 7 of 11 with winning records versus a fairly non-conference schedule. Seems 4 teams is the max making it to final 64 if the league hold true. If OSU "falls off the wagon" and goes a "terrible" 15-6 down the stretch they win the league by 5 games at least, but RPI could actually decrease even going 17-4. I say a 24-6 finish or better is completely in reach without any unexpected major injury. Good news is we host. Bad news is the effing committee. Starting out 24-1 and still finishing with a stellar 24-6, let's say, will be looked at by those ass hats as a slide. We just need to win series, not get swept if we have an off weekend to not give the aforementioned ass hats reason to seed us any lower than a national top 4 seed.... which at 48-7 (again assuming 24-6 finish) should be an automatic #1. "the other shoe will drop" .. Oh most certainly. The more you become familiar with baseball the more you know this is the game's law. However, just by chance maybe, perhaps last year the other shoe had already dropped, leaving this year as the big equalizer.

Unfortunately that "shoe" was somewhat out of control... as are the breaks if the baseball "gods". Not only in Ws and Ls, but in the correlation if regular season success to post season. In a short series weird things just happen. Beaver fans should be well acquainted with it.
