The reward for winning on the road yesterday? A drop in the RPI down to 0.6679.

The reward for winning on the road yesterday? A drop in the RPI down to 0.6679. Back up to 0.6717. The differences have to do more with competition. St. Mary's got swept by BYU. Ball State got swept at home by Ohio. Duke lost a home series to Pittsburgh. Cal Davis lost at home on Saturday to Cal State Northridge but rebounded on Sunday to take the series. If I have to guess, absent a rainout, the RPI will probably go down after Portland, win or lose. Currently, Oregon State's SOS is #19.

Totally bogus that two Pac-12 teams are above three ACC and two SEC. Obviously, numbers and reality don't mix.
Sarcasm machine off.

RPI for today (4/9/2017). Think a home loss to a sub 50 RPI (61) team would be enough to drop us out of first? Hopefully we don't find out.

Also: Upon review of the above graph it appears the PAC 12, Big 12, and ACC are well represented. Uhhh, where's the all-mighty SEC?

Also: Upon review of the above graph it appears the PAC 12, Big 12, and ACC are well represented. Uhhh, where's the all-mighty SEC? The SEC's RPI is actually up this year over last year. Kentucky is 22-11 but 14th in RPI (best RPI in the SEC). Kentucky's non-conference SOS is 71, but, because of the 12 SEC games the Wildcats have played so far, Kentucky's SOS is 13. If they keep winning, Kentucky's 18 remaining games against SEC opponents will drive up its RPI faster than all teams outside of the Big Twelve (the conference with the highest RPI this year). Plus, Kentucky will get the benefit of the SEC Tournament. (The lack of a conference tournament hurts Pac-12 teams year-in and year-out. SEC teams will be playing each other in Hoover the same weekend that Oregon State's RPI will be tanking win or lose against Abilene Christian.) In 2012, Florida went 18-12 in conference (third place) and finished in third during the SEC Tournament and still inexplicably wound up with the #1 overall seed. The Gators were eliminated in Omaha by Kent State. Do not over-estimate the committee's SEC bias.
