Conforto has made the team as the 4th outfielder. If you conduct a search on the internet, you will run into articles that think it's good for him because he will learn more being in the majors. Other articles take the opposite point of view and say that he should stay in Triple A to get as many bats as possible. What's your opinion?

It's always good to make a team's OD roster.
If Conforto isn't getting enough ABs, the club can always send him down for a few weeks to get some work in.
If he impresses in his MLB opportunities, he will earn more PT. If he is less than impressive, they can always blame it on not getting regular work. Win/win IMO.
He also has another thing in his favor: Jay Bruce is notoriously streaky. If Bruce comes out cold, Conforto could earn a lot of PT. If Bruce starts off hot, it probably won't make any difference.

You need a lot of luck and talent to get there. Get hits and you stay up there. Good field no hit and you don't stay there. That has always been the rule. Barney, who's in the opening day lineup in Toronto, is a prime example. Won a Gold Glove, the fans loved him, and the Cubs traded him. Hopefully 'OL Barn can keep it above .290 this year. I'd sure like to see him make the All Star Team some year One never knows when Lady Luck will shine on you. It's better to be lucky while in the Biggs than while being at AAA. Go DB and ftd A lot of Beavs live their dream through guys like Darwin.

i'm between no and I don't know. its all about whether Mike gets consistent at bats. being a 4th outfielder is one of the hardest job in the big league, getting 6 or 8 at bats a week. Mike does not have enough experience to be successful in that role. maybe AAA would be better to start the season. that being said the major league minimum salary is $535,000 and meal money is $100.50 per day.

The ideal solution is to trade him to a team that knows what they have in him. I think he's proven he belongs in the big leagues now, and if he's going to be there then he should play every day so he reaches his sky-high ceiling as soon as possible...

I think he's proven he belongs in the big leagues now, and if he's going to be there then he should play every day so he reaches his sky-high ceiling as soon as possible... Couldn't agree more. The fact that the Mets have buried him under a streaky, one-dimensional hitter with poor defensive skills says a lot. This is a team going into the offseason that needed help at catcher and an everyday centerfielder, and instead they pickup Bruce's contract for $14M. What kills me is to see players like Bryant and Schwarber for the Cubs doing so well, players that were Mike's contemporaries. It just goes to show how different teams are better at developing young players. The Giants have a need in left field, and my hope for MC is that he's traded to SF this year. As for the OG question.. my personal opinion it would have been better for MC to start out in AAA this year. Terry Collins has already said that Mike's role will be late inning PH, something that is very difficult to be successful at and not one of MC's strong points. I actually can't think of a worse way to develop a young player than bring him off the bench in the 9th to face a closer.

They way I look at is that another year in the bigs is another year closer to salary arbitration for Kid Conforto.
