College Football's Easiest-Toughest Recruiting Jobs
ESPN ranked the P5 Schools in terms of easiest places to recruit. Not surprisinglly, OSU clocks in pretty low (53 out of 65). Only Colorado and Wazzu ranked lower. We got a shout out for creative mailers though!

I'd agree, though having been to Boulder... i really like the town and they go all out for the university. that said, talk about ground zero for yuppies!

I cry fowl....!
We are remote? Between Portland and Eugene is remote? 10 miles west of I-5 ? Bizzar!
Corvallis is a small town but I believe CGA is going to make that work to his advantage.
I believe TCU and Baylor are too high... Nebraska is too low. I guess they make these lists to get people talking and how could you ever prove you were right ?
I frankly think they have the yucks ranked low as well.... My list from places I've been would be ASU then Stanford, if I wasn't choosing O State.

Agreed... how can you prove anything about recruiting really?? From my travels... will limit to Pac12... ASU dead last, only scarier place I've been is Fresneck! Phoenix/Tempe is down right scary in a LOT of places. And if you have ever scrimped on cheap tix in the upper deck at Sun Devil Stadium you'll see a scary lot of folks. Add to the fact it must have about 80k+ students, not my cup or tea. Have family there and I avoid most areas outside of North Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Surprise. If not OSU... WSU... Utah... Colorado... Tucson... Stanford (would be much higher except for the cost of living... facilities/atmosphere bar none!)... toss Cal (run down campus, zero parking), USC/UCLA (LA! Although undergrad at SC and spent most of my free days at Malibu/beaches), UW (huge city and even worse rain than here) in a hat... Eugene (besides hating the evil kingdom of phil, Eugene/Springfield not appealing to me)... ASU no where close... can find anything they can offer elsewhere!

You're biased. You don't want OSU to be that low so, you don't accept OSU being that low. Your entire discussion is based on YOUR preferences, YOUR observations and YOUR opinions. Now let's take a look at your assessment:
ASU is in Tempe -- the Phoenix Metro area. There is a lot more to do there than in Corvallis. Add to it, a University that is higher ranked than OSU and has highly rated major programs that kids actually want to take [Not Ag, Forestry, Zoology]. Granted, Exercise and Sports Science is a draw. But for how many?;
Cal, run down campus and all is in the heart of a major metro area and television market and among the top ten universities in the world;
USC/UCLA, in SoCal. Enough said. However, if you need more -- TV market and both in the top twenty academic institutions in the world;
UW, again, large metro area and TV market and one of the top twenty universities in the country;
UO? I'll grant you that.
OSU? No tv market, no life, ranked 121 in the USA.
Give me a break. Kids don't think like boosters or Alum.

First, I could care less where some article had OSU ranked as a recruiting environment. If a student athlete doesn't want to be here, good riddance. I root for those that do come. Next, I very explicitly stated "from my travels"... NOT IN any way what recruits think or want! Lol Yep. They are my thoughts and opinions of what I think of those campuses. Crazy huh? A poster sharing their perspective. So, since I was once recruited and picked my school based on several factors I do also have an opinion on that during that specific time period. BUT, my post in no way elaborated on that as it would be apples to oranges. Just as you have no idea since you're not currently being recruited! Overreact much. Lol

Lol First, "I could care less where some article had OSU ranked as a recruiting environment." Yet, you write a lengthy post about that very topic; Second, "I do also have an opinion on that during that specific time period." Having been challenged on your "perspective" you begin qualifying it; Third, "Just as you have no idea since you're not currently being recruited!" How do you know I'm not currently being recruited? Rather than address my comments, you make an assumption and attack me with it; Fourth, "They are my thoughts and opinions of what I think of those campuses. Crazy huh? A poster sharing their perspective." Yet you get seriously snarky when I share my perspective. This entire post of yours is defensive. But that's your m.o. This board is littered with your adolescent rants. When challenged you get snarky and personal rather than respond in an appropriate fashion. I'd like to ask: overreact much?

This board is littered with your adolescent rants. When challenged you get snarky and personal rather than respond in an appropriate fashion. I'd like to ask: overreact much? I see you've set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public. LMAO I can see you're the, "I'm really easy to get along with once you people learn to see it my way" type, but... Dogge you're so off based it is ridiculous... I'm not defensive at all... your tone says as much about you however. You misread and attacked me by saying I was bias... no duh? I'm a OSU fan. REALLY? You go thru and present some info to support how right you are when again you are attacking a reply that never existed. So, again who's defensive? And "snarky"? I just stated you read my post incorrectly and that your info was lacking any credibility as any other "guesses" on why a recruit chooses a college or any type of recruiting rankings. "How do you know I'm not currently being recruited"... wild guess LOL!!! So let's go with you're not a recruit... have you ever been? That's the point you want to argue??? How about this... lol, never mind! So AGAIN... my post had zero to do with why a recruit would choose a school, but my personal feelings on those campuses and where they are located; and was neither defensive or was my reply to your obviously poor interpretation of either. Ok... so I'm guessing you're a last word guy... and it will take a few minutes with the thesaurus... let's see what awkward reply you come up with now. Luckily you're anonymous and I'll not further waste keyboard wear responding Hope you have a wonderful Thursday:>)
