It was 5 or 6 at one time-- I never thought I would see a swoon in MBB that would equal the FB swoon, but people, we have just seen it. P---es me off, really.

When I got out of grad school, Oregon State had somewhere between the #6-#8 all-time number of wins...... As of last year, Oregon State was still 22nd. (Although, if you tack on the 17 forfeited and vacated wins in the 70s and 80s, Oregon State is in 21st.) I believe that West Virginia, Princeton, and Villanova all passed Oregon State this year, though, leaving the Beavers in 25th. (23rd with the 17 wins.)

Thanks for posting the graphs. The last one looks like an aerial view of traffic where some idiot moves from the fast lane to the exit in a reckless move in a short distance. Guess who that would be?? Still p---ed.

Great information. Very depressing. Best basketball team in NCAA up until 1967. Top 5 until 1991. Sometimes, you do not really know what you have, until it is gone.

We sure went through a whole set of different failure modes in that "veer towards the exit from 5 lanes away" decade....
A good assistant coach is not necessarily a good head coach (Jimmy Anderson, Jay John) Amassing talent - good, Keeping talent - even better (Eddie Payne) Today's dream job might be tomorrow's nightmare (Ritchie McKay) An O-fer audition might not land you the gig (Kevin Mouton) Trips to the White House may not be enough of a selling point (Craig Robinson)
Six coaches, two decades, and a whole lot of futility. The graphs tell quite the tale, I just wish I hadn't lived it.....
Although I did have some fun trying to assign a "bumper sticker" to each coach.......last one also could have been: Invited one and done in March - sad, pay for a one and done in CBI in March - pathetic
Other bumper sticker summaries, anyone? :-)
Go Beavs!
