I haven't found much on our new recruit. She's #22 in these highlights from her sophomore year. She nails a couple short jumpers. I believe this is just her second year of playing basketball, and though she is obviously raw and passive, she seems fairly coordinated. jerseysportsnow.com/article.php?story=16022004&county=PassaicI can't seem to find anything more recent of actual game action. In a *shocking* development, Paterson coaches are under fire for bringing international students for their teams, and apparently in some cases letting them live with them. "The specter of child smuggling has been raised." Paterson's WBB team has withdrawn from the state playoffs as a result. www.wnyc.org/story/basketball-scandal-widens-new-jersey-high-school/ I wouldn't be surprised if the timing of Andrea's verbal commitment was related to this . . . she might have wanted to solidify her future. It's probably a little scary to see your coach fired and your team essentially disbanded because they brought in players like her. Now she knows she has a college career in front of her and the resources of a major university being put towards maintaining her status.

Thanks for the "scouting report" pointer. Some of the follow-up links talk about how both the boys and girls programs at Andrea's school are sitting out the playoffs. Sounds like the men's program really had a Nigerian pipeline going.
I sure hope whatever course this turn of events take, it does not involve OSU having to petition the NCAA in any shape or form..... For some reason, it seems like other schools get their NCAA petitions rocketed through the process in no time at all, and ours all languish like Roberto Nelson's did.....
Go Beavs!
