The players you mention will always merit a special mention in Beaver Nation lore. But the coaching is in place, and the talent still around, for us to continue to have high level success.....among those on the team next year:
Mikayla Pivec, PG ***** Taya Corosdale, F ***** Katie McWilliams, G ***** Aleah Goodman, PG **** Madison Washington, W **** Katharine Tudor, G **** Janessa Thropay, F *** Taylor Kalmer, PG *** Tarea Green, P *** Marie Gulich, P ?
Bre Brown, P [no Hoop Gurlz rating, but "Rated as the 49th best player in the nation by Blue Star Basketball and 65th according to the All Star Girls Report"] - one more year, please!
Go Beavs!!

So far it doesn't appear that Pivec has lived up to her ***** rating. Hopefully next year!!!!

And on a team where the ball was in Syd's 60%+ of the time. In SR's system she filled a role and did very well. There is no doubt should could have averages in mid double digits if that was asked of her. OSU/SR might miss out on a few 4/5* (whatever those really mean) because he has a system predicated on team D and system offense. Those young ladies wanting to come into college and be some superstar are going to go to a place like whoregon. Imagine what some of UCONN's ladies could do in a superstar environment like UW Plum was lucky enough to thrive in!? We just need to keep adding to our "stable" of team first players with hard-nosed, great attitudes... I'll take young ladies (and men) Ms Pivec any day of the week.

I'm so impressed with how well UConn shares the ball.

So far it doesn't appear that Pivec has lived up to her ***** rating. Hopefully next year!!!! ho boy! Pivec was a starter on one of the best teams in the PAC-12 and played very well (great start - 2 times PAC 12 Freshman of the Week; an inconsistent middle season; an emerging star late season). The one aspect that only appeared in fleeting moments was 'leadership'. In several of the later games, that aspect was just barely bubbling under the surface, clearly ready to emerge. But indeed, this was Syd's team, for better or worse. A freshman has no place stepping into a leadership role - though the fact that Sydney was pressing, and being pressured by opponents, led to a pretty ugly late season result (Wiese shot about 15% from 3 PT in the final 4 games: 5 for 33). Pivec's game savvy, her instincts, strength, and athleticism will make her a VIWBBB (Very Important Women's Basketball Beaver) over the next 3 years.
