Our beavs were there vs Georgetown and some Frosh named Ewing. I remember being in 4th grade and at my grandparents' house in Colville, WA, seeing us beat Idaho and then losing to the Hoyas. As a kid I thought it seemed unfair that G'Town invaded the west like that lol. That was one of the first years the top teams started being seeded in other geographic regions

Beat Pepperdine as well. I was working so I listened to the game on a transistor radio. The Beast from the East, as SI would say, crushed us.

That was one of the first years the top teams started being seeded in other geographic regions I think we led once at 2-0 after Sitton got fouled and then it was all downhill. Basketball had 2 wildly different games being played then, a finesse higher scoring game in the west, and a mug and grab defensive struggle in the east that often ended in final scores in the 30s and 40s. We were not ready for that kind of game let alone Patrick Ewing.
