I just heard that news today as well. Andrea Aquino is a Class of 2018 recruit. She plays in the EYBL for the New Jersey Sparks. As a result, she is learning the game by competing with the best posts in the nation that are typically competing on the EYBL circuit. Her verbal commitment to the Beavs is a testament to what Coach Rueck and the Beavers coaching staff have built and are maintaining in Corvallis. The message boards for most of the Top Ten women's D1 basketball programs are aware of the potential of this relatively raw, yet surpising mobile 6'9" center. I have seen multiple mentions of Aquino on UConn's board and on Notre Dame's board, among others. She will have a year playing together with 6'8" Jo Grymek at OSU. Very interesting to look forward to the '18-'19 season and speculate what that might look like if both Andrea and Jo are on the court together. Some ESPNW player development notes are available on Aquino via the link below. She appears to be improving significantly with every tournament. www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/215293

So our class of 2018 so far has 5'9" Katie Mayhue and 6'9" Andrea Aquino. Ironic!

So our class of 2018 so far has 5'9" Katie Mayhue and 6'9" Andrea Aquino. Ironic! That averages to 6'3" . . . is that better than two Taya Corosdales?

At 6'-9" she'll certainly be a C, not a PF.
