I'll just say... college baseball does always follow the "great pitching vs great hitting" adage.
I'll add another... "shake a tree 100 players fall out, 99 with a glove, 1 with a bat... take the one with the bat". This series will be more about our offense being able to take advantage of Zona pitching. Our staff is going to give up runs this series... the 1.06 will take a little beating. But, will our .293 take advantage of their 4.36 ERA and 31 errors when you put balls in play???
And the weather always effects the sun-drenched teams some...

As far as I can tell at least from the stats and anecdotes: Beaver Pitching and Defense >>>>> Wildcat Pitching and defense Wildcat Offense >> Beaver Offense I think the extra ">>>" makes the difference Yeah Zona will scores some runs, but I think Beavs will score more than their season average as well... Going out on a limb, I think we SWEEP the cats with an average score of 7-5

Going out on a limb, I think we SWEEP the cats with an average score of 7-5 Hope you're right, but we didn't score 21 runs vs. much worse pitching than Zona. ASU pitching actually statistically improved vs OSU. And, our D has been strong lately, but is only .016 better than Zona's. Their pitchers also do have a better strikeout rate / inning (0.9488 to 0.9382) so they can/have gotten out of jams the D might have created. If you look at their top 4 or 5 pitchers, they are not too bad... team ERA is greatly effected by 5-6 guys we'll prob never see... Top 4 have 101.2 IP of the 176.... only 85 hits... 19 BB vs 94 K's... 25 ER... 2.21 ERA... 0.224 BA against... they are not slouches. Bottom line, I think this will come down to our offense 1-9 coming thru...

First, Rain, Rain and more Rain. Luke should do well, Tompson can be over powering. If anyone is likely to serve it up for Az look for the Middle Game.
