I believe they lost to UConn by only 2 points. Fair enough. I'll add that.

Strange. Massey has us at #7 and FSU at #14, but projects FSU winning, 65-61, with our win probability just 41%. But it has been that way all year with Massey. Their predictive algorithm is easily impressed by big offensive numbers and margin-of-victory, but their ranking system is more balanced.

Here's hoping Home Crowd helps Beavs! Stockton is essentially Kat's hometown, and Bre is from about 75 miles away....Not to mention that from CV to Stockton is just a good day's drive.
If Kat can shake out of 3-point shooting 'slump' (and Syd too), that might just give the team the boost they need as the competition stiffens. Kat = no 3-pointers in the past 5 games (6 attempts). Syd is shooting 6-28 on 3-pointers in the past 4 games. That's certainly due to change - both are over 40% on the season.

How in the world did FSU ever lose 6 games if they were able to be within two points of UConn.
I am all in for the Beavs, but it would appear that FSU must have tremendous talent to stick with UConn like that.
Hopefully you Beaver experts can give me some hopeful information on how we have a shot in this game.
Thank you!

These two things were factors: 1) Catching UConn early in the season 2) Getting some key UConn players in foul trouble...something that I heard commentators say was a factor in all of UConn's single digit wins.

Thanks for the information!
As far as "getting UConn early in the season", it would seem you would need to get them about 20 years ago (grin)!

They are good... not overly big but very athletic... experienced... outscore opponents by 22 (79.8 to 58) so they play D too... have (4) in dbl digits... Romero a 5'8" Sr. from Spain hits 52% from three... outboard opponents by 10... very complete team. Pretty sure we've faced no one this good this year. But, it's what happens when you play in Sweet 16s.

Tulane didn't even make the NCAA tournament this year.

I'm thinking I heard between games that FSU has a gal that's 5'11" that can dunk. That's pretty darned athletic.

For those of you who have ESPN3 (i.e. cable/satellite provider access), it looks like the first two FSU games are archived there right now: www.espn.com/watchespn/index#type/replay/search/Florida State/ I need to find time to "scout" a little bit, and hopefully catch the 5'11" dunk fest (heard that too). I consider UCLA pretty athletic, but perhaps my standards will get revised once I watch FSU. We have actually had pretty crappy offense for some time now - I went back and watched the OSU - UW New Year's Day game - where the teams were all knotted up at 14, and then by halftime it was something like 44-22. That was 2 quarters of pretty offense.....even SR called it poetry or near perfection. Hopefully we can find that mojo again, the teams are getting stouter by the round. Go Beavs!
