Wow. LB State seemed to out game plan us, out quick us, out hustle us.
But we won. Survive and advance. (And sooooo thankful we didn't make history as the first 2 seed to fall to a 15).
LB State was pushing the guards (including Sydney) off our spots - and I was wondering why Sydney was content to move backwards, and never drove or moved towards the basket.
As pointed out, passing into the posts in traffic works occasionally.
Really bad game for all of our outside shooters. Mik came to play.
I suspect we won't see a game like that again (combination of our crappy play today + LB State's somewhat unique approach), but I just hope we get out of the rut we seem to have found during the Stanford game....
Good news - we won't strike fear in any opponent. Even better news - we will have the chance to cure either Creighton or Toledo of their misconceptions about us.
Go Beavs!

2 for 16 from 3 point land and we somehow won. That's about as miserable as it gets. Hopefully they can flush this turkey and realize we're kind of playing with house money now. Glad we didn't have to live thru another Lamar.

I missed out on why Marie didn't play at all during the last 1/3 or so of the game ??

I missed out on why Marie didn't play at all during the last 1/3 or so of the game ?? LBSU tallest player was 6' or so, so they were playing a 3 and 4 guard set in essence.....and I think whoever she was on was doing well from 3 point land (heck, they all were)....Kolbie and Bre seemed to be holding down the post play OK. But, good question, and not sure I answered it.... Go Beavs!

Not a lot of turnovers in the game..13 LBSU shot a lower percentage overall but shot well from the three point line..10-18.. the Beavers were 2-16. LBSU made a game of it from the three point line. I didn't catch The whole game but was the defense really bad at the three point line?

Though I almost died (literally) when the LBSU missed shot with about 15 seconds left, resulted in LBSU getting the offensive board - and the ability to guarantee 'last shot'. Whew!

We gave up on that rebound with 15 seconds left because we were playing the shot clock, and all seemed to forget that rebound was live.

We gave up on that rebound with 15 seconds left because we were playing the shot clock, and all seemed to forget that rebound was live. We had a couple of mental lapses that I would be highlighting more right now had the score been different that were quite uncharacteristic of us - you pointed out one, some more: - that possession where their guard found herself under the basket and there wasn't a Beaver within 10 feet of her. - four of our starters check in, our ball with ~6 seconds left, and somehow we don't even get a shot up - little dribble drive (besides Mik) to the basket, even though there were times on the rotation (Syd had one of these in the last couple minutes) where the Red Sea parted with a path to the basket, and we didn't exploit it (granted, maybe they were so quick the seam would have disappeared). We didn't play a great game, and either their players/quickness presented a set of variables that didn't allow us to impose our will, or our execution was lacking, or both..... (I was impressed with the LBSU coach - someone to watch going forward) Survive and advance. Go Beavs!
