So bought a house and remodeled it last summer. Put a nice cedar fence all around this 1/4 acre lot. So as I was starting building it one neighbor tells me he doesn't want the fence. I told him no problem I was going to pay for it all. Then he says well make sure its completely on my side. Well ever since he now calls the city to tell them it blocks his view pulling out of his drive way. Dumb a$$ has a tree the size of the statue of liberty that blocks just as much on the opposite side on his property. But that does not seem to be a problem. Why do people make it so hard to enjoy living in peace. He moved to this little quite town from the big city north wish he would move the h*ll back.
I hate causing problems but ready to teach this little punk about small country towns, and how it is best to keep your nose in your own plate.

He'll get over. Letting it fester with you and some retaliation/snideness will make it worse. Next time you see hime mowing, digging, etc., take him a beer. Kill the mother with kindness.

If you are serious about raising the level of conflict, this sounds like a place for BM's old "Coupons from Hell" tactic. Done correctly, he will have no proof of your involvement.

So I am stuck with the one and only whistle blower on my street. Think i will lower it then plant a tree. It will be in direct line with his larger than statue of liberty cedar, so if i remove it he will have to remove his. Joke will be on him as it will run him about $3000-$4000 to drop his. I win I win I win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Until then I will just keep smiling and waving at him. Jack a$$.

What if you file a claim on the tree blocking the view... his or any other driveway is a hazard to any of your kids or grand kids. The other thing you can do besides your idea... out a$$hole him on every little thing he does wrong in regards to HOAs or CCRs.
