While Sydney broke the OSU all-time record for 3s last year (253 - Jamie Weisner is 2nd) and broke the Pac-12 all-time record for 3s earlier this year (295 -Candice Wiggins), she is now at 370 entering the tournament, which is 28 away from tying the all-time NCAA record (398- Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis), and is currently 13th place all time. While it is only a fantastical scenario in which OSU goes 6 games all the way to the finals, and Syd gets 5 a game that has her breaking that record, I’m still a little surprised that OSU hasn’t been promoting her 3s record a bit more. She has a pretty decent shot of making top-10 all time (needs 378) even if OSU only goes 3 or 4 games into the tourney. However, I kind of like the idea of Syd shooting her 399th three as the game winning shot against UConn in the final.
