Pretty minor charge there. Probably will get dropped unless he's got some priors.

Rats. Hope he keep his nose clean from here on.
It could be anything. Years ago I was at the Toa Yuen on a Saturday night with a buddy and Eric Knox (I'm pretty sure it was him, one of the players anyways) had some drunk in his face after a close loss. Then guy was yapping at him for 30-40 seconds and Knox was trying to ignore it, then the guy started leaning in and tapping him on the chest, Eric took umbrage and pushed him off and the guy clocked him, Eric ended up in my friends lap. It was on at that point and I think each of them got one swing in before everyone separated them. That could've turned into an incident if they hadn't got separated fast enough. Eric came over immediately and said "Hey I'm really sorry about that. Did you lose your drink?" Good kid, not looking for any trouble at all and suddenly he was just about in it.
Hopefully this is a case of another good kid where trouble found him.

We were down 1 I believe late in the game, and he went to the line for a 1 and 1. The Mac Court crowd was going wild - we owned that school in the 80's - and they actually made the basket rock and sway back and forth while he tried to shoot. Knox acted like he was shooting in his driveway and calmly dropped them both for the win. Not much to do with this thread, but seeing his name took me back to the good old days when the home team in Gill was a force!

I don't want to condone punching a roommate, but man, remember when people were allowed to go "fist to cuffs" and settle things out without the cops being called? Again, I am not saying this is a good thing. I am not advocating violence as a solution to life's problems. But what I am seeing here are two basically teenage boys getting mad at each other and one punched the other. No report of serious injury, no real damage done. Jeez. I have popped a my friend in the head once. we are still friends. we were teenagers, and you get hot heads. Particularly when you are close to people, you have the capacity to say deeper things to each other. something that may cross the line or hit too close to home. Just crazy now that doing that puts you in jail and and you are posting bail. But to balance my mini rant all out. Come on man! how about not punching people!?!?!

There should be something in the player's manual that states, "in the unlikely event that you are arrested, remove all Oregon State apparel prior to your mug shot."

Apparently he punched his roommate - who is on the Beaver men's soccer team. I don't condone this, but I'm saying there's a chance the other kid flopped.

Hopefully this is a case of another good kid where trouble found him. A big difference is CPD was not the CPD of today in 1990... (fun fact, I was in about 5th grade in 1990 ish Payton/Knox era, and we would make believe being Payton and Knox on the playground and do the classic FIVE... FOUR...THREE count down and heave the ball from half court... missing terribly because we were tiny little elementary aged kids) Back on point, in the late 2000's I was visiting my buddy who was living just off campus on 30th down a bit from Reser. I had to angle a bit into his driveway and ONE tire was about 80% off the driveway and on to the grass. I got a ticket for parking on the lawn. My wife drove to friends in Corvallis to return a carpet cleaner we borrowed. she pulled up behind the friend car in the driveway, left the engine running, pulled out the vacuum and ran it up to the door, spent about a minute there and came back to a ticket for blocking the sidewalk. The best part is the cop had been parked in the neighborhood already, watched her park. didn't say anything then walked over and placed the ticket. a CPD cop gave me a ticket for my headlight being out. on Christmas. I asked where I was supposed to get a new one on Christmas day... he didn't care. CPD have a rep... for a good reason man.

I think all of us have had a couple unbelievable run-ins.. My 2 "favorites"
- Got pulled over for failing to use my right blinker (his words) - after I pointed out that I actually turned left to get where we were and used my left blinker in the process, that quickly ended our conversation.
- Got pulled over coming back from my GF's house at about 2am (was completely sober). "Did I do anything wrong?" "No, but it's pretty late, wanted to make sure you were being safe."
