Anyone else watching ND vs Duke in the ACC tourney final? They're playing in some rinky-dink JC arena in Myrtle Beach SC. Pull out bleachers on 4 sides 1000 capacity max. Offhand I can name 2 high school gyms in Oregon that are larger (Marshfield, South Eugene).
Makes me more appreciative of the atmosphere at Key Arena.

They are playing the tournament at Coastal Carolinas facility. I think it was moved from Charlotte because of the bathroom law.

Law or not, still can't fill that venue!

As a guess - looking at photos, I'm thinking that is the Kimbel Arena, capacity 1,039. That gym was replaced as Coastal Carolina's primary home by the HTC Center in 2012. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimbel_Arena en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_Center Regarding high school gyms in Oregon, I think most at the 5A and 6A level are larger. My memory may be foggy, but I think my high school (Roseburg) published 3,500 for sell-outs. When Crater got a new high school (I think 1980) that gym was similar. Medford's (I think now North Medford) was much larger . . . . guessing 6000+. KU (Klamath) and Grants Pass were a little smaller and probably older, but intense and had capacity's of much more than 1000.
