Gabby covering Canada was ABSOLUTELY the key to the game. But, it's never worth getting into a "discussion" with you, because you're never wrong. Is not right vs wrong... is opinion and I threw out facts supporting it. As for SR, what's he going to day, Gabby sucked. I never implied such either. It just wasnt one of her best overall games defensively. Again my opinion... based on Canada getting her into foul trouble to allow her to get started... scoring over HALF of her teams points... and the interior D allowing 3-21 shooting and 15 total points. Seems to me a classic case of not and outstanding job on one player yet shut everyone else down. Bigger key... IMHO... than Gabby's D contribution. But, then again the "discussion" must always go the way of Gabby's D was the key... I get it, she's the POY and I'm supposed to drink the koolaide. Sorry... when you hold a team to 20 points under they scoring and their interior does squat, including their All-Pac12 post... that's key to me... and not a disparaging comment about Gabby in the least... as some on here seem to be making it seem. That's not totally fair. I don't remember the first foul Gabby picked up but the second was on a play where she started running down court and the UCLA players leg flew out in front of her causing her to run into it. I wouldn't say Canada caused Gabby to get in foul trouble.

Squonk.....appreciate all your coverage on the women's team this year. I rarely comment but do visit this site quite a bit. This game had some momentum swings and the difference between the 2nd quarter and 3rd quarter was huge I thought. Although I didn't watch the game, I listened to it and thought that Gabby was part of the reason for the diff in those two quarters. We definitely feel her presence on the defensive end......so yeah she helped the outcome of the game significantly....just as much as the offensive play of Pivec and Sydney.
Kersting.....I agree with your sentiment on baseba1111 ......he seems a bit hyped on himself and his opinion of things - so it's comical to watch the back and forth banter with those of you that choose to do so. Dang.....he really got taken back a bit on one of the forum's a week or so ago and I thought maybe he would tone it down a little but that's apparently not going to happen.
So, here's hoping for the 3-peat of Stanford tonight.......doing so maybe give us a slight chance for a #1 seed but the bias on the east coast probably won't let that happen.

Baseba1111 states his opinion and you could counter it with every fact on the planet, and he would never admit he could possibly be wrong. There's really no point in engaging with the man. Take his contributions at face value, but every conversation with him is one-sided.

Only those with a message board ego issues think of it as a "right vs wrong" win vs lose" proposition.
