Damn... 10:25 here... sitting at coffee still... 77 with cool ocean breeze... 10 steps from blue Caribbean.
Phx... Caribbean... not looking forward to home next week! But, there is Phx the week after?!
Go Beavs... give the diehards great games for hanging in vs the weather.

Been a long time for me. I dream of going back to Little Cayman Being a fairly frequent visitor... way more casual couple here than snooty/high priced resorts... and like easy/safe access to both local and resort amentities/food/drink... my fav spot by far... Roatan Honduras. Small island... international airport... cruise ship stop... inexpensive by a lot of standards. Best snorkeling in Caribbean... great dive shops... truly friendly people as island totally depends on tourism. Mainland Honduras is a no no... this place is heaven. Very poor roads and truly a mix of local life and small tourist areas. We stay at the end of a 2 mile beach in West Bay... never super crowded and short beach walk to literally anything you want. Our resort, Grand Roatan, has super hi tech water filtration, reserved beach chairs/no one without wrist band can access beach, pool, or dive shop... 5 min water taxi ($3 pp each way... more at night as not all have lights!) takes you to more local food/drink establishments in West End which is the party zone. You should look it over for your next trip. We are even thinking if buying here. Realtor showings Monday... tons of options on tourist or more remote side for under $250k. Biggest cost here is electricity... $0.40/kwh! Also 15% food tax... 18% on liquor... but, multitudes of bars along the beach that have 2 for 1 drinks at $5 or $7, beer is about $3 includes tax. Local food is also incredible and 1/2 the other restaurants...

It has been a long time since we have been. We bought our vacation home in Bend and that put an end to "other vacation". More/better family time than a once every couple year trip. But things are changing now that we sold our Tigard home. I know at some point we will get back.

But things are changing now that we sold our Tigard home. I know at some point we will get back. Understood... we have a family beach home that only we/kids use a lot and will not buy here. But, no harm in looking and making connections as the Realtor also manages 150 properties. We figure why buy and deal with upkeep, property issues, and bills (especially in a foreign country) when for the same amount you can buy you can stay a place like we're at for 1000+ nights (based on $250-300k purchase and $200-250/nt suite... there are dive shop rooms that are rustic but quite nice for $40-50/nt). Is the snow and ice cleared from your Bend home. Heard there were about 20% of homes from Sisters east that had significant damage from snow and ice build up. Hoping you were part of the 80%!

Yeah. most of the snow is gone. We have a little in our alley on the shady side. One side of our street cleared about 2 weeks ago. That snow was crazy. People were freaked out about ice dams and doing crazy stuff. There were companies coming in from out of state to clear the. Regular local grifters were charging $100 to shovel roofs. Our neighbor had his done. They were just ripping on that thing. Most likely doing more damage to the roof than the possible damage an ice dam would do. It was like a mania. Sunriver always gets more than Bend too. With all the trees down there they likely still have a bunch/ Look for a bump in For sale homes in a couple months. LOL. Back to Cali
Maybe if you sweet talk the realtor you can get a coupe free nights on your next trip. I always look at the For sale ads when we are down there
