As a redshirt junior, Bre Brown will have one year of collegiate eligibility remaining after this season. Yesterday, Bre was announced with the seniors on Senior Day because she came to Corvallis with that recruiting class and may not be playing basketball for the Beavers next season. Local sportswriter Steve Gress mentioned in a recent Tweet that Brown is considering her options for next season. As a graduate transfer, Bre could play with a different collegiate program next season and not have to sit out a year.
Others have shared that OSU may not offer the graduate degree program that Bre is seeking. If that is the case, it is understandable that Bre would consider her options to transfer to a different school. For those of us who have a great appreciation for all the hard-nosed work that Brown performs in the paint at both ends of the court, we know that Bre would once again play a significant role in what the Beavers can achieve during the '17-'18 season if she elects to stay one more year.
If the timing is right during a game at some point either up in Seattle during the PAC-12 tourney this coming weekend or in Corvallis as Gill Coliseum hosts the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament, it would be heartwarming for Beaver Nation to begin a "One More Year" chant for Bre so that she knows how much her fans appreciate what she has done for the program.
I just might be the one to start that chant. I hope that others may elect to join me.
Go Beavs!

I would certainly feel much better about our two-deep on the front line if she returns! Of our 5 forwards/centers on roster only Gulich would return after playing significant minutes this year. We would otherwise be relying heavily on our JC transfer post and freshman that have hardly played this year.

I'll second that cheer! Bre has been working her rear off for four years. I was overjoyed to see her come into her own this year and had been looking forward to her Senior year with Marie and the Polish Hammer in the lineup. If not at the Tourney, at least let's get this done at home in our First Round game of the Dance!

If not at the Tourney, at least let's get this done at home in our First Round game of the Dance! Having Bre and Kolbie at the 4 is like having one tall, tough, skilled, savvy, incredibly athletic, scoring/rebounding force, who can play at full steam for 40 minutes and has 10 fouls to give.
Bre a little more of a rebounder, Kolbie a little more of a shooter but their skill sets are wonderfully complementary. I'm sure Scott has absolutely loved being able to take one out for the other and not really lose anything in terms of overall game.
Bre is awesome. Whatever she decides I will support. But I hope she knows how much her fans not just at Gill but throughout the State appreciate what she brings and how hard she's worked. We would love to see her stay, guiding the young players coming in and shining even brighter in 2018. We will need HER more than ever next year.
