Neb came in 1-10 and the winning pitcher was 0-4.
Our staff gave up 7 er.
We will not make the tournament if we don't go into conference play with an impressive non-conference record. We are currently 8-4 which wouldn't be terrible but when you average only 7,8,9 conference wins over the last handful of years it's not trending in the right direction. If this is a sign of things to come we are going to be lucky to hit that 7 win total.
As many of you know I am a softball enthusiast. I am an OSU enthusiast for sure but softball affects me more at the core. (I need to find some hobbies). I realize softball is probably ranked at the bottom of the major sports as far as priority goes but as a hardcore fan I find the mediocrity unacceptable. I also realize that when TSDTR has a donor give 17 million to build a state of the art facility we cannot compete. We will have to find that coach like Clint Meyers at Auburn. He was very successful at ASU and then went to Auburn and had them in the college world series final last season in year three. Granted, they had talent but could never get over the hump.
Don't know if that will ever happen for us. I just wish we had a program that was right there and competing year in and year out. But I hope that for all sports. I am no doubt a dreamer.
