Important start today for Jake. It would be terrific if he can be that solid #2/3/4 starter during PAC-12 season. He's always had such great potential/tools. The fact that he came out of the Ducks coastal backyard has always given me a warm feeling.

Beavs take lead in the 4th with 3 straight singles by KJ, Anderson and Adley! Need to get a bit of a lead and hold it because might not be able to go 9 innings with the MLB teams needing the field.....

Jake hit 95 in the 5th. Impressive so far. Keeping the ball down. Composure is light years better.

3-0 Beavs going to B 5. Pretty nice to see Jake strike out 2 in the top of 5th. Only given up 1 hit. Very strong outing

Beavs add one in the 6th on a Donahue Sac Fly....then Thompson mows them down in the 7th. Beavs up 4-0 heading to bottom of 7. Thompson 7 IP, 1 H, 3 BB, 5 K on 82 pitches so far....pretty solid outing so far

On a positive, Max can get his 4th save?

Max comes on in 9th and scuffles a bit with 2 walks and a error by Gretler but a double play helps him get out of it unscathed.
Beavs WIN 5-1! 7-1 trip to Surprise will do. Looking forward to seeing them live myself on Friday
