McKenna Arriola
is a junior and part of Berg's highly ranked class a couple years ago. Poor girl has committed 11 errors in 11 games. I can only imagine she is pressing.
I mentioned in an earlier post I wondered if Berg had the hitters overthinking at the plate. With McKenna's 11 errors and the rest of the teams 9 other I wonder if they're all overthinking in the field as well.
Girls are doing pretty good so far but I know they can do better.
Because Berg was such a great player, most decorated in softball, I wonder how that translates in coaching. I remember when Magic gave coaching a whirl and it didn't go to well. In fact, it's pretty common for the great ones to be poor coaches. I hope Berg proves that trend wrong.

Wasn't that recruiting class ranked it in the top 10 in the country? Really hasn't translated much to wins on the field.

It seems to me that so far Berg has shown to be an above average coach. She just has not been able to that next step to being a very good or great coach. So I would say she is proving that a great player can be an above average coach. I haven't felt like she is in that poor coach realm at this point in time. What are your thoughts about that? Agree or disagree? I appreciate your information on the Softball team as you follow more closely than me.

I just wonder if the girls feel pressure to 'live up' to the standard she was as a player and have a hard time relaxing. The girls unanimously say they like her in their bio's so I'm sure she helps them. She seems like a very encouraging coach.
