Getting our arse kicked 10-0 in the 4th.
They've out hit us 11-1.
Our frosh pitcher, who was ranked in the top 5 of pitchers, stat line in 3 innings: 10 hits, 9 runs, 7 earned, 6 walks.
Ouch! Poor girl. Welcome to the upper level.
And they've left 8!
Which I didn't realize was a good number for success. Thank you to whoever made that point.

What happened to the freshman pitcher they had last year named Nelson? Haven't seen her name come up yet.

What happened to the freshman pitcher they had last year named Nelson? Haven't seen her name come up yet. Berg has used her in relief in a closer role. She throws hard but struggles with her off speed. She gave up a lot of home runs last year. I don't have a stat but I dare say it was in the top 15% in the country. I watched a game that was streamed earlier and it looked like her change was coming along but when you battle the studs, everybody in conference, one must have great command to be effective. We were run ruled twice over the weekend. That's not a good sign. This is Berg's 5th year I think and if we don't get to the tournament, we face a dilemma. Stay with Berg who hasn't accomplished very much in taking us to a next level status or start over with someone new which will probably result in defections/poor recruiting and put us at the bottom bottom of the conference: both standings and talent. Ug....I hope we move in the right direction going forward.
