Kyle is a two-time all academic honorable mention. Grades were probably not an issue. He's also the West Coast League defensive player of the year. He's also one of my favorite Beavers. One of my all-time favorite Beaver plays was when he "superman"ed and caught a late-in-the-game UCLA line drive a couple of years ago. I'm totally bummed that an injury might have kept him out this year.

GT says "nagging lower body injury". I guess it could mean a knee or a back injury.

Must be pretty serious to hold him out for the entire season.

Ouch. I take it that the nagging injury would be there through the season. The other outfielders on the roster range from adequate to untested to challenged from a defensive standpoint.
