Try to tell me it wasn't. All the a-t-l had to do was execute once, just once, on O or D and they would have won.

Or.... after Jones's catch, run the ball three times, take 2! min. off the clock and go up by 11 (if field goal is made)
Good Luck SF with your new coach.

Shanahan could have called 2 running plays... could have been stuffed...forced NE to call 2 TOs... kick a chip shot FG... Game over up 11

This was absolutely the undoing of the Falcons. The ONLY way the Pats had a chance was if ATL either missed the FG or was somehow pushed out of FG range. The only way to get pushed out of FG range was to take a sack or penalty, and BOOM, they dialed up the plays that were just what the doctor ordered. I thought the play-action that got the first 39 yards was brilliant. The Jones catch was amazing. They should have been sizing their rings right then and there, but instead tried to get too fancy. It was like watching Russell Wilson throw another INT at the goal line. Call the only play that could possibly f*#k it up.

I am not much of a Pro Football fan, but watched most of the Super Bowl. I have a question. In college football (and basketball) when it comes to the 4th quarter (last 5 minutes in bb)if you are ahead by a decent margin the team that is ahead takes it time and plays the clock down. Usually snapping the ball with only two or three seconds left, but I noticed Atlanta making a lot of the snaps with well over 10-15 seconds left. This just doesn't seem rational to me.

NFL teams typically play to this script tighter than NCAA teams.
