Fellow Beaver fans,
My concern about tonight's game is the recent dramatic drop in production by Ms. Pivec (and to a lesser extent by Ms. Tudor).
Ms. Pivec is the highest rated recruit we have ever had and initially appeared to be living up to that rating. However the last 3 games I believe she has gone scoreless (and very little other production-rebounds, assists, etc.)
Since I believe the great success of the team this year is due to all the key players contributing, the absence of positive contributions from these two could be critical.
Would be interested in any thoughts on the subject that any of you have.
Go Beavers!

Go Beavers! Pivec has the physical skills and mental attitude to be a very good player - and to overcome the current down spell. Inconsistency is typically a part of being a freshman. She's 19... and just now developing as a D-1 player in the best women's BB college conference (in the world?).

I think she is in a sophomore slump which just happened to come on a little early. I think she will be just fine in the long run.

It's what a lot of HS players go thru... higher level competition, more expectations in school and off the court... And, most HS seasons are close to over by now with little travel in comparison.

She will play her way out of it. College is quite an adjustment in a 18 years old life. Some student/athletes it takes awhile before the change in their lives affects them. She will be fine, but I noticed that SR is going more to Katie as the game progresses. Would like to see Kalmer get more PT,

She has appeared tense to me... like she is over-thinking all of her moves rather than acting instinctively (like she did when she followed her shot against Stanford). The cure for that is just more experience.
I'm sure that getting Katie Mac and Kalmer more time is part of the prep for next year. Those two are the prime candidates for stepping up and getting us shots when we need them (making up for the loss of Syd). I'm especially hoping for Kalmer to get a lot more PT tomorrow, given that it is a homecoming for her too and she didn't get much of a chance against ASU.

Also hoping that Kalmer gets big minutes tomorrow. Agree on the tentative characterization of Pivec. I'm concerned about her ZERO for Sophomore, Junior, Senior seasons. She will hit her stride - too much talent and physical attributes. So glad she's a Beav. Regarding how difficult it is for (most) freshman to adjust to rigors of PAC-12 (the BEST Women's College Basketball on the planet): Ionescu (SUPER frosh) was 2 for 11 yesterday against a 2-9 (in conference) Arizona team.
