We added exactly one scholarship player to the defensive front 7 today: LB Kesi Ah-hoy
Bowcut (who is going on a mission anyhow) is listed as OL.
Emony Robinson was added as a grayshirt earlierin the cycle, and Craig Evans DT was signed during the early JC period.
We're not currently light, but we have a grand total of 2 D-linemen who will be true Freshmen or RS-Freshmen in 2017, and 4 Senior D-linemen.
At least one HS D-lineman would have made me feel better.

I would imagine that we're going to hit JC DL hard for a few years and hopefully take a few less "projects"

Morris will be a Linebacker and a dang fine LB.
Despite the lack of front 7's in this class it seems like we have lots of young depth there due to all the youngun snaps last season.

I've heard Morris slotted at a safety. Have the announced a different plan? You're right that he's going to good - at LB or safety!

Listened to David's interview on the radio. He said he will start at safety. He will be a real good one for us. Think of Mitch M. (can't remember how to spell his last name.) David has a chance to contribute right away for us, we will see how quickly he picks up our system.

I watched Morris play at Sherwood a couple of times against my sons' Lincoln team and my biased and utterly unscientific opinion is you want to play him closer to the line of scrimmage because he is really good at sniffing out run plays and will get strong enough to play in the box. That skill set is harder to find than the ball hawking high jumping safeties.

Other than wanting another FR DT, I think we're in pretty decent shape on the front 7, we already have a bunch of young guys as it is. Next year we'll absolutely need to recruit some depth at DT and then I'd imagine at least 1 JC DE, maybe 2 depending on what we see out of Garcia/Katoa/Turnier... Pretty good class distribution at the LB spots.
DE SR Pritchard SR Failauga SR Napoleon JR L. Williams SO Katoa RFR Turnier FR Garcia
DT SR Savea JR C. Evans JR Vakameilalo SO Aydon
ILB SR Payne SR Hungalu JR Willis SO Hughes-Murray SO Liuchan SO Hunt RFR Taumoelau FR. E. Robinson
OLB JR Ugwoegbu JR Soesman SO Smith SO Unutoa-Whitson SO Robinett RFR Rashed RFR Whetzel FR Ah Hoy

I'm confident that once he is on the practice field this staff will move him around to the best position to fit his strengths. They don't seem to mind moving people around. I've only seen his video and I agree with your analysis blowcheese.

Yeah what is the line of thinking of moving him to S? Is it something the kid wants so they are just appeasing him? Or is he pretty filled out and doesn't have the frame to pack on another 30 lbs.

I've watched him since grade school off and on, I don't think he can get to 235-240, you never know, but he is more rangey (sp) than stocky, I think they try him a S first, or maybe a hybrid type player. They will find the best position for him and the team.
